Watch and Pray

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

Thoughts:  “I’m only human” is not an excuse or license to continually sin because there is a remedy in the scriptures above. Watch and pray. Prevention is better than the cure. Abstain from evil. Be careful and prayerful. Guard your treasure. Your soul is top priority. Give it over to Jesus, but we must do our part. Don’t put yourself in a compromising situation if you can help it. Watch the company you keep because birds of a feather flock together. We pray “lead us not into temptation” but what are we doing? Watch and pray. We must seek God’s power to resist the devil and he shall flee from us. Be bold in Jesus. Romans 1:16 says “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Zechariah 4:6 says “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
